Hi there. Zimki is ramping up for another massive release. The office is heaving with new faces from all over the world. There is so much being planned and done. Lots of tests and improvements. Lots of running around with cups of tea, people in rooms with projectors, pizza; coffee stains, arm waving, and diagramming on whiteboards. Lots of worrying about permanent markers. And always the testing and optimization, and more testing, and design, and coding, and so on…
Today I'm expanding the architecture. Not just me. Everyone is doing it in their own ways. My first alcove of work is on a payment system for the site so you folks can get more tokens as and when you want. This is straightforward but involves a lot of cross-checking and security.
Then I'm using my gigantic balloon head to develop a system which will handle a whole new order of scaling in Zimki so as we get bigger we don't suffer the slowdown problems and unreliability which dog much of the software industry. It's not a trivial task. But we have a way in Fotango of doing hard things now so life is easier in the future.
This has a knock on effect of making us quite popular with our clients. Don't know why. Anyway, I'm also refining our rather lovely custom content delivery system which we use to provide documentation for you folks.
Okay. I'm done. Next time, I'll put some pics of the craziness in the office.
There will be yaks.
I promise.
